time to change

It is time we realised that Western Democracy isn't the Saviour of the World and that Jesus is.

It is time that we realised the world isn't steadily 'getting better'

It is time we realised that we need to start thinking maturely about confronting Evil instead of blindly lashing out against it.

There is no 'us' and 'them'. We all have the line of good and evil drawn through us. I don't suggest it is a simplistic 50/50 ratio: (our) humanity is of course far too complex, too organic to be compartmentalized like that. We battle with this dualism all through our lives though, living in the image of YHWH or living in the image of other 'gods'.

The more we look to Jesus, the more we train to become like him, the more we reflect God's image. Leaving Jesus behind worshipping the creation means we become more like the gods we make in his stead: power, sex, money, gossip, anger, jealousy, bitterness, the list goes on.

I need to live like the cross of Jesus truly has defeated evil and that I'm anticipating the time when his work in both myself and all of Creation is complete.
